Typical Horror Conventions.
Things like, fast paced shots, people go missing, dark shots. We will be keeping to these conventions when we make our trailer.
Questionnaire.
We made a questionnairre so that people could evaluate our final trailer and give us any last feedback we might need.
Kick-Ass
This starts with an opening shot of Lion gate, then it goes straight into high key lighting when the guy with glasses is talking then goes to low key lighting to show him in his outfit then goes back to high key when they get to the school, the lighting changes by the time of day. Throughout the trailer the lighting is changing there isn’t much colour changed to show mood. All in a city so time of day depends on how bright the shot is depending on whether the streetlights are on. The lighting also compliments the colour of the costume like if he was stood outside you would see the full colour of his superhero costume. So certain lighting makes the costume look brighter.
Jeepers Creepers 3
This starts off with low key lighting of a car driving on what looks like an abandoned road, the colour of the car blends with the sky so you can see it is gloomy. Also the road looks dusky. Unlike the two before this one doesn’t show the production company/ The weather behind them being gloomy also changes the mood of the scene and adds tension. When the shot shows the trees, it is shadowy and you just see a movement but don’t know what the thing that moved actually is. Then it goes to a completely black shot with a single light. Lighting up the characters. This makes you feel on edge. All the writing is written on a black background which contrasts the colour of the writing.
Harry Potter
The shot starts with Warner bros logo, which then lights up. Dim lighting as the camera goes over the lake, Dim lighting as you see Voldemort. Then goes to a bright scene as you see a circle of grass. Then goes back to the low key lighting as Harry comes into the scene. Then it goes of and you see a sky as they fly off most of this trailer is at night time. As it is always Dim lighting. Every now and again you will see a flash of light. The lighting could also be affected by the background, as they’re in a forest so, the chances are it would be dark. The colours used are dark green, black, dark blue. This contrasts the colours of the spells that are cast as it makes them stand out against the background.
